Assign Worksets

Use this tool to move selected elements (levels, grids, Revit links, or CAD links) to a specific workset, with optional pinning and link renaming.

  1. Choose what to assign. Open the Select Objects dropdown (e.g., Levels and Grids, Revit Links, AutoCAD Links) to load matching elements.
  2. Pick the target workset per element. In the table:
    • Element Name shows each item (e.g., Level 0, Level 1).
    • Current Workset shows where it is now.
    • Workset lets you choose the new workset from a dropdown (e.g., +Link_MEC, +Link_STR, ARC_Building, ARC_Facade, ARC_Levels and Grids, Temp_Columns).
  3. Speed up multi-edit. Select multiple rows, set a workset in one row, then use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy/paste the chosen workset into all selected rows.
  4. Set options (optional).
    • Pin elements to keep them fixed after reassignment.
    • Rename linked model instances to match the linked file names to keep link instance names consistent.
  5. Apply. Click Assign to write the changes. No changes are made until you click Assign.
